Wierzbówka / Cetti's Warbler / Cettia cetii

Cetti's Warbler (Cettia cetti) was a long expected species in Poland as with its spreading occurence it was already observed in neighbouring countries. Polish Cettia was spotted by two observers (Jakub Szuksztul, Jakub Topoliński) in Gdynia/Baltic Coast

I managed to reach Gdynia on Monday evening 2nd June and with other observers we could here it singing several times before sunset
Next day at sunrise we could also take some pictures apart of decent views in local bushes.
It was quite easy to spot and following the bushes along bike path,

 TEREKIA / TEREK Sandpiper

This bird was one of the species which I dipped several times. Despite two succesful observations in Turkey and Belarus Terek Sandpiper avoided me in Poland and Podlasie.

It was passing quickly late spring through the area on migration towards East. So when Grzegorz Grygoruk found one in Siemianowka Lake I quickly rushed for my wellingtons and camera to start towards the reservoir.

I walked quickly scanning the Cow Islands and reached the sandy tip with some Dunlins and Sandpipers. The area was flat and extremely dry as for spring time.

I spotted some "horizontal" wader in the edge of small island which appeared to be TEREK Sandpiper! Finally! It was feeding actively on short shore of the islet keeping safe distance, rather for a scope than binoculars. The bill was distinct, upcurved, sandy coloured body and darker areas along the body formed by dark tips of scapulars.

Nice and elegant it was my long missing bird in Poland!
