Snow cover forces mammals to move into fields for crops. Bisons are quite easy to find east of Knyszynska Forest.
Otter is also easier to observe in river valleys like Biebrza or Narew

November birds
Top birds this month included Kittiwake at Dojlidy fish-ponds, Lapland Longspur at Bialystok and a Pomarine Skua at Siemianowka. The bird was tame and could be photographed by numerous birders
Waxwings reappeared in the second half of the month.
Unusually high water level at Biebrza Valley.
Nice selection of northern visitors also at Siemianowka, though very few Smew?
27th Saturday
Sunny and high pressure, nice change after some dully days. Another mega visited Bialystok small airport - GREATER SHORT-LARK which is the first record for NE Poland and 10th for Poland. Bird is still present on 28th Nov in light snow fall.
Golden Eagle recorded in the fields near Ostrowek, eastern border.
